Detailed Syllabus for JEE Main 2023 & 2024 – Paper 2 – B.Arch./ B.Planning.
The JEE Main Paper 2 includes all the topics relevant to the architecture and planning programs. If you wish to pursue undergraduate courses in planning and architecture, you need to appear for JEE Main Paper 2. The JEE Main syllabus for Paper 2 covers only the relevant topics on the subject. The JEE Main Paper 2 will be conducted in both CBT and pen and paper mode. You should use the below syllabus to study if you are preparing for B. Arch.
Part-I and Part-II of JEE Main Syllabus for Paper 2 – B.Arch./ B.Planning
Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials, Objects. Texture related to architecture and build environment. Visualising three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings. Visualising different sides of three-dimensional objects. Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability (Numerical, Visual and Verbal).
Part-I for Mathematics and Part-II for Aptitude will be conducted in computer-based test mode.
Note: You should carry your own stationery set for the exam. Please carry pencils, erasers, colour pencils and crayons for the Aptitude Test. A geometry box set will also be required.
Part-III of JEE Main Syllabus for Paper 2 – B.Arch./ B.Planning
Three-dimensional – perception – This topic includes understanding and appreciation of scale. The proportion of objects. Building forms and elements, harmony, contrast and colour texture. Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil. Transformation of forms both 2D and 3D union, subtraction, rotation. Development of surfaces and volumes. Generation of Plan, elevations and 3-D views of objects. Creating two-dimensional and three-dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms.
Sketching of scenes and activities from memory of urbanscape. This topic includes public space, market, festivals, street scenes, monuments, recreational spaces, etc. Landscape (river fronts, jungles, gardens, trees, plants, etc.) and rural life.
Part-III of Paper 2 for JEE Main will be conducted in pen-paper mode. This exam will be offline and will be taken on a drawing sheet.
