JEE Main is a national level engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Starting 2019, the JEE Main exam will be conducted twice each year, i.e., in the months of January and April. JEE (Main) is the only route to get admission to the undergraduate engineering programs of central and state level engineering colleges including admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs as well as for some private engineering colleges.
All students, whether aspiring for IITs or NITs or IIITs or other engineering colleges would need to appear for JEE (Main), i.e., Joint Entrance Examination (Main). Top 2.4 lakh students in JEE (Main) 2020 would be entitled to appear for IIT JEE (Advanced) 2020.
So, it's important that you score highest in JEE (Main) examination. From 2019, JEE Main will be conducted twice a year, in January and April. For admission, the best of the two scores shall be considered.
