Latest Update on JEE Main 2019 - NTA Releases JEE Main 2019 application forms. Visit JEE Main website to fill the application form.

JEE Main application form for 2019 has been released by NTA (National Testing Agency) for April JEE Main 2019 attempt. The application form for JEE Main 2019 is available online on the NTA and JEE Main website. JEE Main examination will now be conducted online twice in a year I.e. in the month of January (from January 6 to January 20) and in the month of April (from April 7 to April 20).

 

Current JEE Main Application form released by NTA is for the April 2019 exam.

If you are a JEE Main aspirant and meet the JEE eligibility criteria, you can apply for the JEE Main 2019 (January and April attempt).

The application form for JEE Main is available from Feb. 8 and the last date for form submission is March 7 for JEE Main (April attempt). However, you can make the payment of the application fee till March 8.

At the time of filling the JEE Main application form, you can choose the exam city and center as well as the date of the exam.

Latest Updates in process of filling the JEE Main 2019 Application Form

While the process of filling the JEE Main 2019 application form is similar to the application forms for the previous attempts, but there are a few major changes in the process:

  • As the JEE Main 2019 examination will be conducted twice in a year, there will be separate application form for each of the attempts.
  • NTA has revised the JEE Main application fee structure for JEE Main 2019. See revised JEE Main application fee here.
  • To apply for JEE Main 2019, you can use your Aadhaar Card, bank account details, ration card number, Passport Number or any other valid Govt. identification provided
  • Your parent's or guardian’s signatures are not required for filling the JEE Main 2019 application form
  • Age restriction for JEE Main 2019 application has been removed. Now, if you have passed class 12th examination in 2017 or 2018 or are planning to appear in the upcoming 2019 class 12th examination, you are eligible to fill the JEE Main application form and can appear for JEE Main 2019 irrespective of your D.O.B.

To support you in the application process for JEE Main 2019, NTA is using Common Services Centres (CSC) to help you fill the JEE Main 2019 application form. CSC will charge you an affordable fee ranging from Rs. 25 to Rs. 50 for helping you fill the application form.

Documents required for JEE Main Online Application

NTA has simplified the process of filling the application form by reducing the list of documents required. You need to keep the following documents and details ready at the time of filling the JEE Main application form:

  • Government approved ID proof such as Aadhaar Card or any other proof
    • In case, you are from the state of J&K, Assam and Meghalaya, you can apply using your passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid government identification
  • Your class X and class XII Certificate
  • Your valid email id
  • Your current mobile number (please enter only valid mobile number where NTA can send you SMS)
  • Scanned image of your photograph
  • Scanned image of your signature

JEE Main Application fee and payment process

You can make payment for the application fee for JEE Main through the following modes:

  • credit card/debit card
  • net banking
  • e-Challan – you should make the payment to any SBI bank branch in cash and receive the e-challan.

In case you are making payment of JEE Main 2019 application fees through credit/debit card and the website shows the status of the payment as Not OK, it would imply that the transaction has been cancelled and the amount that you have paid will be automatically refunded to your concerned credit/debit card within 7 – 10 working days. You will need to pay the application fee for JEE Main again and ensure that the website shows the Payment status as OK.

Payment of JEE Main Application fee through e-challan

  • For payment in e-challan mode, you need to visit the nearest SBI branch to make the payment.
  • To make the payment, you should visit the SBI MOPS page (SBI Multi Option Payment System) and generate an e-challan and take printout of the e-challan on A4 size paper. This e-challan is valid for 12 hours only. Hence, the fee for the application form should be submitted within 12 hours after taking the print out of e-Challan or you will have to generate a new e-challan.
  • The e-challan will contain the NTA information in addition to Bank Reference Number.
  • Visit any of the SBI branches in India and deposit the application fee.
  • Once the cash is deposited to the SBI branch, SBI will update your payment status as successful with NTA and JEE Main.
  • You can contact NTA helpdesk for transaction related queries or inquiries.

Correction of errors in Application form for JEE Main

Please ensure that the information that you enter in the JEE Main application form is correct in all respects. However, in case you have made any error in filling the application form, you can make corrections from 11th March to 19th March in online mode. You will need to provide valid reasons for making the corrections or modifications to the application form.

No requests for change of details in application form for JEE Main will be entertained after this period. Also, changes requested in offline mode such as via post, courier, email or fax would not be accepted.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2019 Application

Step-by-step process to filling JEE Main 2019 Application Form

The entire process of JEE Main 2019 Application is completely online including uploading of scanned images and fee payment. You have to apply for JEE Main 2019 in online mode only.

All fee payments need to be in online or e-challan mode only. No payments should be made in offline mode or via money order, demand draft, IPO, etc. Such offline payments would not be accepted.

You need to follow the below steps to apply for JEE Main 2019:

Step 1: The application for JEE Main 2019 will be submitted on the official website of JEE Main only. Visit www.jeemain.nic.in and click on ‘Fill the Application Form’ on the home page.

Step 2: If you are a new candidate, click on ‘Apply for JEE (Main) -2019’ under ‘New Candidate Registration’.

Step 3: Read the instructions carefully and click on ‘Proceed’.

Step 4: Now you need to fill up the Authentication Form. Enter your State of Eligibility, Type of Identification Proof, the Identification No., Date of Birth, Gender, Security Pin and click on ’Submit’.

Step 5: Now fill up your JEE Main application form based on the following guidelines:

Section 1: Personal Details

Here you need to enter your parent’s name, category, nationality and other details.

If you belong to the category, ‘Other Backward Classes (OBC) – Non-Creamy Layer’ as per the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Government of India, you should also mention OBC in the category column. However, if you fall under ‘State list OBC Candidates’ and are not in ‘OBC-NCL (Central List)’, you should choose ‘General’ in the category column.

Section 2: Exam-related details

  1. You need to first select the exam you are applying for, i.e., Paper 1 or Paper 2 or both papers of JEE Main.
  2. The mode of examination for JEE Main paper-1 will be computer-based mode (CBT) only.
  3. Select 4 cities in which you want to appear for the JEE Main exam. Select the cities in the order of preference, i.e., most preferred city should be chosen first.
  4. Select the question paper medium, i.e., English, Hindi or Gujarati.

Section 3: Mailing address

Enter your complete postal address with PIN Code in the respective fields. Also enter your email id, mobile number and landline no. with STD Code.

Section 4: Academic Details

Enter your details of passing Class 10th and Class 12th as asked in the JEE Main online form.

Section 5: Guardian Details

Enter your father’s and mother’s details regarding qualification, occupation and annual income.

Section 6: Choose a password

Create your password based on the following guidelines:

  1. The password that you create must be 8 to 13 characters long.
  2. Your password must have at least one upper case, one lower case letter and at least one numeric value.
  3. Your password must have at least one special characters, i.e., .!@#$%^&*-

Please note down your password safely to log in to the JEE Portal in future and also don’t disclose your password to anyone.

Section 7: Security pin

Enter the text (security pin) shown in the image. The security pin is case-sensitive. Then click on ‘SUBMIT’.

Step 6: Now review your JEE Main application form before submitting it. Check every detail in the application form and if you want to make any changes, click on ‘Edit Application Form’ at the bottom. If everything is correct, check all the boxes in the ‘Parameters Checklist’ and ‘Declaration’ at the bottom, then click on ‘SUBMIT’ to submit your JEE Main application Form.

Step 7: Note down your JEE Main Application number written on the screen. It would be required for future reference.

Step 8: Now you need to upload your photograph and signature. Click on ‘Upload scanned images’ and upload the scanned photos in the respective fields. Please take note of the following before uploading the images:

  1. Your photograph should be a passport size photograph with your name and date at which the photo was taken written below. This is a sample of how your photograph should be.

  2. Keep the scanned images in JPEG/JPG format only.
  3. Ensure that the file size of scanned photograph is between 10 KB to 200 KB.
  4. The signature should be in running hand on a white paper. The dimensions of the signature should not be more than 3.5 cm (width) × 1.5 cm (height).
  5. Ensure that the file size of scanned signature is between 4 KB to 30 KB.
  6. You should keep 6-8 identical photographs which will be required at the time of entrance exam, seat allocation and admission process.

Step 9: After uploading the images, click on ‘Preview’. Then click on the button ‘Pay Examination Fee’. Ensure all the particulars are correct before making the payment.

Step 10: Now select the mode of payment SBI MOPS (Net banking/Debit card/Credit card/e-challan) and make the payment. You can make the payment using the following payment options on the SBI MOPS payment gateway:

  1. Debit Card (SBI / other Banks)
  2. Internet Banking (SBI/other Banks)
  3. Credit Cards (domestic/International)
  4. UPI
  5. Cash Deposit (through e-challan in any of the SBI branches across India)

After making the payment, you would be redirected to the ‘Home Page’ and take at least 4 print outs of the JEE Main Application Confirmation Page for future reference. You do not need to send this Confirmation page of the JEE Main application form submission to NTA.

If you want to make payment using e-challan, select this option and take a print out of the e-challan in PDF format from SBI-MOPS page. You can visit any nearby SBI Branch and deposit the amount mentioned in the e-challan.

Step 11: Now you can safely log out of the account.

Ensure that you have completed all the above-mentioned steps, otherwise your application for JEE Main April 2019 will be rejected.
